01Different questions, different boundaries
Corporate Carbon Footprint concerns an organisation and reporting period, including Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories. Product Carbon Footprint concerns a defined product and functional or declared unit within specified life-cycle boundaries. Results are not interchangeable.
02When support is useful
For customer data requests, baseline development, procurement discussions or reduction planning when activity data and calculation responsibilities are fragmented.
03What the process includes
Agree the reporting purpose and method; establish boundaries; collect and validate activity data; select documented emission factors; calculate and review results; identify data improvements and reduction opportunities.
04Typical deliverables
Data collection templates, boundary and methodology notes, a calculation workbook, a factor register, a results report and a data-quality improvement plan. Scope 2 reporting and Scope 3 screening follow the selected framework.
05Practical value and boundaries
Traceable calculations support prioritisation and future reporting. The GHG Protocol, ISO 14064-1 or ISO 14067 may inform the agreed scope; independent verification and regulatory reporting are separate activities.
