01Two standards, different purposes
The Performance Standard addresses environmental, social and governance performance within the defined entity scope. The Chain of Custody Standard addresses systems for eligible material flows, accounting and related claims. One does not substitute for the other.
02When support is useful
When defining an entity scope, responding to customer sourcing requirements or preparing operational teams for an independent certification audit. Applicable versions, eligibility and boundaries must be confirmed.
03What the process includes
Separate gap assessments for the selected standards; operational control review; documentation and training; traceability and material-accounting controls where Chain of Custody is in scope; readiness review.
04Typical deliverables
Requirement-to-evidence matrix, implementation roadmap, process responsibilities, supporting records and traceability procedures appropriate to the agreed scope.
05Practical value and boundaries
A clearer connection between requirements and daily operations. Consulting and readiness work do not constitute ASI certification or an official assessment, and do not authorise ASI claims.
